Dr. Joseph Peragine, PT, DPT, SCS is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Board Certified Sports Specialist, Certified Golf Fitness Instructor, and Certified Functional Strength Coach. As an avid athlete and father of three, he knows what it takes to get his athletes back in the game and his clients to new levels of strength and performance. Joseph is one of the top credentialed Titleist Certified Golf Fitness Instructors. He believes in a team approach when it comes to his client’s fitness and wellness.
As a unique hybrid of medical and fitness for over ten years, Joseph has dedicated himself to helping others get out of the pain cycle, enhance their movement and improve their performance. His training has allowed him to treat some of the most dedicated professional athletes, golfers of all kinds including tour players while working in New York City at one of the top golf Fitness Gyms Drive 495. Joseph credits his success rate to the well-rounded, highly specific and personalized treatment plans he tailors to meet each clients specific needs. He prides himself on uncovering and exposing the underlying cause of an injury, correcting the weak links, and building a solid foundation of strength and work capacity in order to enhance one’s performance.
Joseph graduated from Montclair State University with a degree in Biology and continued his education to earn a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2008 from Rutgers University (formally UMDNJ).
He holds certifications from Titleist Performance Institute as a Medical Professional Level 3, Juniors Coach Level 3, Power Coach 2 and Fitness Coach 2. He also holds certifications in FMS Level 2, SFMA Level 2, FCS, Full Body ART, DNS Level A, USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach, Dry Needling, and FMT Basic and Performance for Rocktape. Joseph has completed a rehab mentorship at Athlete’s Performance and a mentorship at Mike Boyle's Strength and Conditioning. He is also trained in various soft tissue techniques such as IASTM, cupping, and KT taping. He has been mentored by world renowned Physical Therapist and Strength Coach Dr. Charlie Weingroff.
Joseph resides in Freehold, NJ with his wife and three children. When he is not improving as a professional, he enjoys playing softball with his friends and is now dedicated to working on improving his golf game.
